Collage of Digital Excellence (CODE) on Saturday 19th November 2022 strengthened the capacity of journalists on digital rights reporting in Sierra Leone.
The training took place at the Collage of Digital Excellence (CODE) Main Motor Road, Congo Cross, Freetown.
Speaking to journalists, CODE tutor, Osman Karim, said that this free online journalist courses will boost journalists’ career and help give edges over digital use.
He stated that these training courses will guide journalists through the ethical responsibilities and public duties on how to use the internet, while doing opinions, stories or articles to avoid conflicts of interest.
Osman said that to be a good researcher, journalist most know how to use the internet as this generation is fast moving to digital world. He went on to say that this training will help journalist on their daily routine of a reporter.
“As a journalist you most have an Email address to serve as a purpose in sending or receiving news items to be published, he said”.
He discusses the main criteria for a journalist workflows including typing skills, how to use the keyboard, mouse and others.
Journalists, who participated at the two days training, thanked the management of Collage of Digital Excellence (CODE) for such platform, as this training comes at the right time, as we are close to the country’s general election.
They said CODE is equipped with modern digitisation materials that will enhance their knowledge.
