As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sierra Leone’s leading Mobile Telecommunication Operator, Africell-SL, on Wednesday 6th September 2023, through their over five billion Leones “Mega Promo”, presented one TVS motorbike for the weekly draw to one lucky winner, Julian Jonah, a Civil Engineer, and the first mega prize winner, Alusine Jalloh, with a Toyota Preso car, for the monthly draw. The presentation ceremony took place at the Africell Sierra Leone Head Quarter at Wilberforce in Freetown.
In her statement, the Sponsorship and Sales Manager, Nancy L. Joseph Turay, said that it’s part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to give back to their wonderful subscribers, adding that promotions of such nature are not new to them, but that they are setting the pace to give out winning and also giving back to their customers.
She furthered that they have given out so many promo and offers, adding that one of the criteria to be part of the promo is to be an Africell subscriber. She furthered that if you are an Africell subscriber, you must top up ten thousand Leones every day, then you will stand a chance of winning, adding that the draw will continue from Monday-Saturday on AYV TV, Afri-Radio and all community radio stations and on Facebook.
She revealed that the chances are on daily basis and are not carried forward, adding that they have a service of credit transfer of recharge so the subscriber will be able to share the credit with someone else.
In his brief statement, the Marketing and Communications Manager, John Konteh, said that in this coming month ten winners will win two hundred and fifty new Leones every day, adding that all the ten winners will automatically qualify for the grand draw after one month. He revealed that since they started the promo in August, they have presented five motorbikes to five winners from across the country, adding that every day they will announce ten winners and the mega promo will continue until January 2024.
Presenting the prizes, the Chief Corporate Affairs Manager, Joe Abass Bangura, started by congratulating the two lucky winners, adding that since 31st of July 2023, when they started the promo, it will run for six months until January 2024. He continued that three hundred and sixteen people have won since they started the promo, and that three hundred of them have won cash prizes on a daily basis, ten during the week, and 5 won five motorcycles on the weekly draw, with only one monthly winner, which is the grand prize.
One of the beneficiaries, winner of the grand prize, Alusine Jalloh, a driver, said that before now he was in doubt, adding that Africell has finally cleared his doubt. He further encouraged other Africell subscribers to continue to subscribe and they will also be a winner one day.
