On Sunday 9th April 2023, at 20 Oxley Street, Fourah Bay, Freetown, the Friendly Chat Organization, a group of young Muslims and Christians held its first ever Iftar under the leadership of Ing Renner.

Iftar is the fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims in Ramadan at the time of Adhan of the Maghrib prayer. This event marks the first ever annual celebration of the Iftar by the organization. The daily fast during Ramadan begins immediately after the pre-dawn meal of Suhur, and continues during the daylight hours, ending at sunset, with the evening meal of Iftar.

In an exclusive interview with the current leader, Ing Renner, he stated that the group is made up of both faiths, and that he is pleased that his Muslim brothers and sisters are able to hold this event. He expressed support for the holding of the Iftar by the group, adding that the organization is highly tolerant of other religious faiths, especially their Christian counterpart.

He furthered that the organization was formed to support entertainment, sports, and other development activities. He furthered that the organization will continue to hold the Iftar during every consequent Ramadan period. He maintained that the membership collectively contributed to the provision of all the items used for the Iftar.

Ing Renner disclosed that in this coming December, they are planning to hold a grand event to commemorate their anniversary, adding that there is a whole lot of activities planned for that celebration. He called on interested people to come on board, as forms for membership are now available.
