On Thursday 8th June 2023 at Orange SL Headquarters on Hill Stations, the management of Orange Money officially launched their Orange Money Card to customers and the General Public. On the aspect of welcome and declaration of purpose, Head of Strategy, Partnership and Marketing, Abibatu Baxter, updated Members of the Fourth Estate that Orange money is open to all, and even those not having a smart phone are not limited to use the facility.
The astute and result oriented Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orange Money, David S. Mansaray, expressed excitement because they are about to launch the Orange Money Debit Card. He confirmed to the audience that the card would be used to shop online and make payments, adding that Orange Money card has taken over the mobile money World, which happens to be the very first to be launched in Sierra Leone. Mansaray assured that their commitment to innovation is very strong and added that the card will make business easy. One could swipe his or her card to buy fuel, and at the same time the card will be helping with the issue of making reversals. Mistakes using the card will be limited. The apt CEO of Orange money concluded by re-affirming that the Journey to improve their digital footprint in Sierra Leone is a continuous process and they will remain committed in fulfilling that. David assured members present that Orange money is for everyone and everyone should have access to Orange Money card.
However, the Chief Commercial Officer, Haffie Haffner, highlighted on Social inclusion, Digital inclusion and Financial inclusion. She said that they are taking the lead in social interaction, and elucidated that they are not only operating to make money, but are giving back to Society through upholding their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Madam Haffner ended by saying that Orange SL is committed to making the necessary digitalization services to their customers, as they are considered their boss. Haffner stated that their subsidiary, Orange Money is leading in the Financial inclusion in Sierra Leone. “David is doing tremendously well in the area of Financial inclusion. Orange Money card is giving an opportunity to not only the Company, but to the customer as well, and even people who are not Orange Money customers; breaching the Financial gap. Thanks to the entire Team for being fantastic during the process”. She communicated.
