The police authorities are actively searching for Sidikie Bangura, a former resident of No. Back off Teko Road in Makeni, a city located in the northern region of Sierra Leone. Sidikie has been officially declared a wanted individual due to his alleged involvement in planning and participating in a significant protest that has raised serious concerns among local law enforcement and governmental officials alike.

Reports indicate that he is believed to be one of the key figures responsible for inciting the widespread demonstrations that took place on August 10, 2022, not only in Makeni but also in various other regions throughout the country. These protests tragically resulted in the loss of 31 lives, an event that has left a profound impact on the community and has drawn national attention regarding issues of governance and civil rights.

Adding to the gravity of his situation is Sidikie’s role as an executive official within the All People’s Congress (APC), the principal opposition party in Sierra Leone. His position within this political party has positioned him as a critical suspect in the eyes of the government, which has accused the APC of orchestrating and financing the protests while alleging that this political entity may have played a direct hand in the violence that ensued. Consequently, the government has asserted that it is imperative for those responsible for these acts to be apprehended, thereby intensifying the efforts to locate and detain individuals like Bangura.

In a related development, Sallu Kemou Mansaray, a man who has also been implicated and was specifically named for arrest and detention has taken evasive measures by fleeing Sierra Leone altogether. He is currently believed to be residing in an undisclosed location in a foreign country, seeking to evade the watchful eyes of law enforcement and protect himself from potential arrest.

However, it is critical to note that should Mansaray decide to return to Sierra Leone, he remains at substantial risk of being apprehended by the authorities, as the police are actively on the hunt for him. The warrant for his arrest remains in effect, highlighting the ongoing tensions between the government and opposition groups in the country, as well as the serious implications that arise in the pursuit of those they deem responsible for the turmoil surrounding the protests. The situation continues to develop, and the police forces are determined to bring those involved in the protests to justice, thereby maintaining order and addressing the unrest that has shaken the nation.
