INFLATION TURNS MESSI IN THE POLITICAL LEAGUE

The suffering masses are clearly hearing the sound of inflation, the song is composed with so many instruments, like ineffective policies, corruption crusade, designed purposely for self-enrichment and political compensation.
Loosing sense of what actually the nation’s number one enemy is, shows lack of insight, foresight and hindsight of the past, present and future problems of the nation’s economic instability.
Inflation in Sierra Leone must be declared No.1 public enemy, like it was declared by the then American President Gerald Ford in 1974 in the United States of America. That declaration made everyone put on patriotism and the nation’s loyalty regalia to combat its uneven increase.
The government’s approach towards the inflation is laughable, knowing full well that inflation reduces private and public partnership, affects the quality of goods and production, if attention is not paid to it, and such will always be creating undue burden on the lives of its citizen. There should be a shifting position to show signal of pricing stability and strengthening our economic health.
Taking into account the increment in the fuel price is an evidence to show lack of care and breach of trust by the government, making situation worse for its people.

The price control policies confer an economic intervention on government to act, as mandated by law, to help mitigate the effect of inflation on goods and services, especially making them affordable for consumers.
Amidst the political suffering the masses are going through, the government is busy digitalizing corruptions and computing unfair taxes, making it difficult for foreign investments to come. Foreign investments will help give oxygen to our revenue generation, and rescue the economy that is suffering from respiratory instability. Incoming investment will cushion the mountain of suffering, by creating jobs and boosting our economy if the enabling environment is created.
The duplicity of offices and functions are obvious indications that the government is unserious to have the nation out of poverty and to protect its tax payers’ money. What is the difference between Ministry of the Environment and the Environmental Protection Agency, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Basic Education, Separation of Ministry of Social Welfare and Ministry of Gender and Children Affairs, Chief of Staff and Chief Minister? Etc. All these separations and creations are for the intent and purposes of political compensations, bloating the economy with no sense of empathy for the populace.
Misplaced priority in Bio’s governance is obviously a serious problem that is occasioning the hardship on the lives of Sierra Leoneans, and this problem is neglected by the said administration, and seemed deliberately designed to satisfy party structure and individualism.
The excuses government is advancing for its failure to deliver its people from the self-induced poverty are insulting and provocative to the people. Imagine that the government is still using Corona and the Russian invasion as reasons for the current economic hardship experienced by the nation; surprisingly, this mimic administration is touting and leading the corruption cancer to spread deeply and widely in Bio’s administration with the assistance of inflation.
In comparative analysis with countries in Africa, countries that are managing their inflations to a level that is not adversely creating hardship for their people and making lives better off for them, the Bio’s Administration is busy giving excuses, as if Sierra Leone is the only nation that is existing in Planet Earth and West Africa. Why always Sierra Leone for the wrong reasons?
As a nation, government did not win the war against lawlessness and indiscipline, corruption and poverty, declared by President Bio in his first term, yet they leapfrogged to the Five Big Changers, posing as if the wars in Bio’s first term were won, putting an end to poverty.
New promises, new style and pattern are for the electrification of corruption and poverty. Inflation is enjoying its honey moon with economic crisis, a marriage that was officiated by corruption and witnessed by bad policies, elections fraud, political egoism and selfishness.
