PERSISTENTLY FORCING UNISA SANKOH VILLAH TO JOIN THE MALE C,BANBANI SECRETE SOCIETY AGAINST UNISA SANKOH VILLAH’S SMLL.
16th April, 2024 INTRODUCTION: This has to do with a case of Intimidation, Harassment and Threatening remarks by members of the Male Gbangbani secrete society against Unisa Sankoh Yillah
Conduct likely to cause the breach of the peace. This case is incidental for investigation,
BRIEF FACTS: This department has received and is investigating a case of persistent harassment, intimidation and threatening remarks against Unisa Sankoh Yillah by Ibrahim Sankoh Yillah, on behalf of the members of the Gbangbani Male secret society of Kaiwula village, in the Kambia District Nofihern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The persistent attempt to coerce Unisa Sankoh Yillah into joining the Male Gbangbani Secret Society has been established.
This department has received and is investigating a case of persistent harassment, intimidation and threatening remarks against Unisa Sankoh Yillah by Ibrahim Sankoh Yillah, on behalf of
the members of the Gbangbani Male secret society of Kaiwula village, in ‘the Kambia District
Northern Provmce of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The persistent attempt to coerce Unisa Sankoh Yillah into joining the Male Gbangbani Secret Society has been established.
However, Unisa Sankoh Yillah has refused to be initiated, stating that it is against his Islamic beliefs. Since Olen, the father started to persistently harass and threaten him in an attempt to force him Il)to joining the Secret Society.
Unisa Sankoh Villah went on to say that, initially he thought it was a joke, but persistent intimidation, harassments and threats left him broken and forced him to look for a way out. After family members and relatives had failed to resolve the matter between him and his father. He said he did not know what to do to get out of this difficult situation except by reporting to the police.
He further stated that his decision not to even visit his father’s hometown which he frequently visited on religious festive seasons was a sad one as his safety was also at stake, as he was now considered a social deviant, because of his Muslim faith. He told the police that, the only option available for him was to make this statement or report for protection and to serve as a strategic move to counter false accusations against him that may arise,
Actions Taken:
l . Upon receiving this report, the police extended an invitation to Mr. Ibrahim Sankoh Yillah for questioning and to gather more evidence.
- Statements were collected from his neighbours and other witnesses present at the time of the incident
Evidence Collected:
Witness statements from other family members, and neighbours were obtained about the persistent intimidation, harassments and threatening remarks by Mr Ibrahim Sankkoh Yillah.
Recommendations:
Expedite the investigation to prosecute the perpetrator.
Enhance security protocols persistent intimidation, harassment and threatening remarks by Mr Ibrahim Sankoh Yillah, who is acting on behalf of the members of the Gbangbani Secret
Society.
Investigation: Intelligence also gathered revealed that the incident was strongly motivated by members of the Gbangbani secret society and other witnesses corroborated the incident, and others confirmed the allegation but however indicated that the incident is purely a traditional matter.

Investigations into the identity and affiliation of members of the Gbangbani secret society are ongoing.
