One of the leading telecommunication mobile companies, Africell-SL, on Wednesday 21st September 2022, signed a memorandum of understanding with one of the contestants of Housemates Salone Season 3, Osman Bendu, commonly called Mammy Thomas.
The memorandum took place at Africell’s headquarter’s Boardroom situated at No.1 Pivot Road, Wilberforce Village, Freetown.
Speaking on Tik Tok (digital media), Africell’s Media Manager, John Konteh, said his company’s new Brand Ambassador is active on social media platform. Mr Konteh furthered that ‘Mammy Thomas’ was one of the contestants that participated in Housemates Salone Season 3, though he was evicted during the course of the show, and assured that the company’s new Brand Ambassador would be responsible for coordinating whatever things put on social media, especially the Tik Tok.
He said that Tik Tok is the fastest growing media at the moment, and through digital media, someone can quantify the number of audience viewership that he/ she may want to reach.
Mr Konteh said that Africell’s new Brand Ambassador has 82 thousands followers on Tik tok and other social media platforms.
Africell’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Abass Bangura, in his statement, said that it has taken a long time going through Osman Bendu’s story. He furthered that though it is going be tough, but assured him that there is nothing impossible in life.
Mr Bangura said the company has been helping the youths in the country, referencing Kelvin Doe and Karim Brima, who won one billion Leones from Africell. He said that Africell is not only meant for communication, but it is also there to enhance the life of young Sierra Leoneans.
Mr Bangura encouraged their new ambassador to continue pushing on, assuring him that he is in good hands. He said that comedy is a business, as he has been watching it on daily basis, adding that there is medicinal help in laughter. He furthered that Africell would continue to help young Sierra Leoneans financially, stressing that the road to success in life is hard work, like in the case of Nigerian popular comedians; Mr Ebu, Aki and Paw Paw. He emphasized that hard work entails a lot.

The New Brand Ambassador, Osman Bendu, in his response, thanked Africell and Africa Young Media Empire for their aid, adding that had not been thinking of achieving such in his life, but thanked God for achieving this height.
