On Saturday 1st April 2023, at the Fourah Bay Community, Freetown, the mighty Klub Senate helds its second annual Iftar under the leadership of Chiefo Abdullah Kabba.
Iftar is the fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims in Ramadan at the time of Adhan of the Maghrib prayer. This is their second meal of the day. The daily fast during Ramadan begins immediately after the pre-dawn meal of Suhur, and continues during the daylight hours, ending at sunset with the evening meal of Iftar.
In an exclusive interview with the current Chiefo, Abdallah Kabba, he said that he is pleased to take up such responsibility, since he was elected as Chiefo, with the support of every member of the klub, adding that they are the first to engage I such activity within the Fourah Bay Community.
He furthered that the klub is not only focused on entertainment, but has been supporting sports and other social activities as well, and within the last two years, they’ve taken the adventure of holding general Iftar once, during the month of Ramadan.
Abdallah continued that providing all what it takes to break the fast, costs a lot, especially as no specific number of people are catered for. He furthered that it is a blessing to Allah, and with the support of klub members, they have always tried to make the best provision for everyone.
In his conclusion, he expressed appreciation for all who took part in the general Iftar, adding that the Klub is happy to interact with others, including members. He also thanked klub members for always supporting him and for working as a team for the development of the klub, and promised that by next Ramadan, they will plan to make the Iftar greater.
