After Being Gang-Raped…

Millicent Toe Faces Death Threats

Investigation mounted by this medium revealed that a young lady by the name of Millicent Toe, who was gang-raped by armed youths of the main opposition party, SLPP, is being threatened with death by her assailants, preventing her from making reports to the police, and has gone into hiding.

According to family sources, Millicent’s brother, George Toe, a journalist, has been investigating corruption allegations against the SLPP, following revelations in a Commission of Inquiry established by the Ernest Koroma administration into the affairs of the past governmentl. His Investigation and publication of same had resulted in death threats to he and his family.

Our source furthered that in the early hours of 20th June 2015, at about 2:00 am, some armed youths of the SLPP, armed with guns and machetes, stormed the residence of the journalist, in eastern Freetown, apparently to effect their threats. The journalist, George Toe, his  sister, Millicent, Grandmother, and nanny were at home. The armed youths ransacked the house, and in the process, gang-raped her. It was disclosed that the youths demanded George Toe handover evidence of his investigation and stop any further Investigation into the matter. As he refused to handover the evidence he had gathered in his Investigation, he was shot, and while her grandmother tried to prevent the youths from raping her, she too was shot.

It was further disclosed that the nanny managed to escape during the fracas, and has since not returned. Millicent Toe is said to have been discovered unconscious by neighbors and rushed to the hospital. Upon recovery and discharge from the hospital, she has been living in fear, as her assailants threatened to kill her, knowing that she will be able to identify them. Since then, she is said to have been moving from place to place to avoid being located.

Residents in the area told this medium that these youths have, on several occasions, stormed the area looking for her, and have issued threats to anyone harbouring her. During those raids, they have fired several rounds of gunshots, terrifying all in the community, and the police have always arrived late, notably after all the atrocities have been committed and the perpetrators left, leaving many to believe that some of the officers were supporters of the SLPP and benefited from the corruption of the former government that is being investigated, and were against the ongoing inquiry.

As we go to press the whereabouts of Millicent Toe are unknown, and with regards to the death of her brother and grandmother, no Investigation has been mounted by the police, other than that the matter is being looked into.
