Reports reaching this medium state that Abdul Umaro Kamara formerly of Timbo Talent Road Makeni in the Northern Region of Sierra Leone is now on the run fearing for the safety of his life after he was declared wanted by members of the Gbangbanie secret society because of his refusal to be initiated into the society and succeed his late father as the leader and Chief initiator of the society.
According to reports it is the of the Temne, Limba and Loko ethnic groups that when the head and chief initiator of the Gbangbanie secret society dies, he must be succeeded by either is son, nephew or grandson. The reports further explained that when Pa Sheik Umaro Kamara died on the 30th July, 2025 the deity’s chose his son Abdul Umaro Kamara to succeed him a decision that Abdul refused to accept because he is married with three children and he was a practicing Muslim.
The reports went further to explained that among other barbaric practices that they indulge in the Men of the Gbangbanie secret society normally force the succeeding leader to sleep near the dead body of the former leader and other day of his initiation, he is made to drink a mixture from the skull of a former leader as part of the ceremony of taking oaths of office and to ensure that he keeps the secrets of the society.
According to an elderly Man who claimed to be a relative of Abdul Umaro Kamara, but asked us not to mention his name for fear of reprisals from the Gbangbanie secret society men. Abdul Umaro Kamara troubles started when he lost his father Pa Sheik Umaro Kamara who was also member of the Gbangbanie secret society and chief initiator and there was a need to initiate another Man, normally a son, nephew or grandson to succeed the deceased leader as traditions and customs demand.
He further explained that the deity of the Gbangbanie secret society revealed in a dream that Abdul Umaro Kamara was chosen one to succeed his late father. The Man further explained that when the Gbangbanie Men including his uncle approached Abdul Umaro Kamara with the decision, he outrightly refused to accept which according to tradition is an unforgivable abomination that is punishable by death.
He disclosed that to carry out the edicts of the deity’s the Gbangbanie Men decided to kidnap Abdul Umaro Kamara and forcefully initiate him into the society and make him a member. Late one night in the early 14th September, 2025 , some Men kidnapped Abdul Umaro Kamara and took him into the Gbangbanie shrine but that with the help of some of the Men who were against the injustice they helped declared him wanted and gave instructions that he should be found and killed in order to appease the deity of the society. According to source Abdul was in the Gbangbanie secret society bush closed to two weeks before he was escaped.
He also revealed that even Abdul Umaro Kamara family members, his wife and three children were beaten mercilessly that led to the death of his wife Marie P. Koroma. Other family members were accused of helping him to escape and threatened with death which made them to run away from the town with her mother Yeabu Zainab Conteh and the three children who are currently residing in Guinea. The Gbangbanie secret society men have a very organized network’s all over the country and that they have all been alerted about abomination which Abdul Umaro Kamara had committed against the society with instructions that they should look for him and kill him in order to cleanse the society of the abomination that he has committed.
He indicated that the Gbangbanie secret society men will not rest until they find Abdul Umaro Kamara and kill him. The Gbangbanie secret society men are still searching for Abdul Umaro Kamara and that they will never forgive him in order to cleanse the land of the abomination and appease the deity of the society. Most senior members of the government are part of this Gbangbanie secret society.
