MARTIN KOMBA KPAKIWA DECLARED WANTED

20-year-old Martin Komba Kpakiwa formerly of 25 Regent Street in Freetown who is presently on the run has been declared wanted following a Police raid at Brookfield’s community, opposite Faith Assembled of God Church in Freetown, where Gay members were having an end of year night party on the 30th day of December 2021.

At a press conference addressing newsmen at the Police Headquarter on Monday the 3rd of January 2022, the Head of the Police Media said, the Police got intelligence from community people that a group of Gay members have converged in their community for celebration.

Immediately, the Central Police Division Patrol Team loaded with tear gas canisters raided the community, shooting residents and unarmed Gays and some members of the said group were arrested and are now under police custody helping them with investigations whiles Martin Komba Kpakiwa has been declared wanted.

Sources within the community have confirmed that, Martin Komba Kpakiwa jumped a fence to escape from the scene and he sustained serious injury on his neck, vehicles were burnt down, properties were destroyed and there was a pool of blood scatter within the neighborhood.

Considering the death threats that were slammed on Martin Komba Kpakiwa, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced a ransom of Fifty Million Leones (Le50, 000:00) reward will be given to any member of the public who will help in the arrest of or give information that will leads to the arrest of Martin Komba Kpakiwa who is top on the police search and wanted list.

This press has learned that Martin Komba Kpakiwa come from a strong Christian background and his father is a member of the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL). Such a devilish act is strongly against his father’s religious belief, and has brought disgrace to their family because according to them, both their religion and tribe are against all forms of homosexuality. The search for Martin Komba Kpakiwa has been intensified.

Gays have faced all forms of harassment, ridicule, eviction and violence from people who believe homosexuality goes against their religious or cultural beliefs. According to the Public Order Acts of the laws of Sierra Leone, Lesbianism and Gay Acts are totally discouraged and banned. The laws state that anyone caught in the practice must face a sentence of life imprisonment and untimely death.
